The Hurva Synagogue, The Burnt House Museam, and The Plugat HaKotel Museum are by appointment only.

Last entry to the sites is 40 minutes before closing.

Directions

The Old City of Jerusalem has four main entrances.

in the car:
The closest parking to the Jewish Quarter and Mount Zion is the entrance to the Zion Gate. Nearby you will find a public car park (details later in the article), and about ten minutes walk you can reach the Western Wall.

Another option is to park at the Sderot or Karate parking lot (closer to the Jaffa Gate), and enter on foot through the Jaffa Gate.

By public transport:
Egged bus lines:

Line 1 – Central Station – Kotel (passing through Redemption and Sabbath Square).

Line 3 – Central Station – Kotel (passing through Sorotskin Street, Ezrat Torah, Bar Ilan junction, Samuel the Prophet Street).

Line 38 – The Jewish Quarter – (Circular line passes through the Western Wall, the Khan, King David Street, and so on).

Line 83 – Maale Olives – Maale Olives (Circular line passes through the Khan, King David Street, Mamilla and the Wall)

The “City Hall” station – from the station you can continue on foot to the Jaffa Gate (about 10-15 minutes).

Passengers on the light rail service have three “Hannah and Sa’a” parking spaces where you can leave vehicles and board the light rail: Mount Herzl parking lot, Ammunition Hill parking lot and Pisgat Ze’ev parking lot.

Taxis

Taxis are allowed to enter through Jaffa Gate at any time, so by taxi you can reach the Western Wall. You can also stop a taxi along the bus routes inside the Old City, where the taxi concentration is usually in the area of ​​the road that goes to the Jaffa Gate, and near the Wall and the garbage gate.

Private vehicles

Private cars entering the Old City through the Jaffa Gate are prohibited from 9am to 6pm except for residents of the Old City, its merchants and the disabled.

Parking lots

Karate parking lot – at the entrance to the Old City near the Jaffa Gate (fee).

“Mamila” parking lot – underground parking on Elrov Avenue, near the Jaffa Gate (free of charge. Free first hour).

The “Jewish Quarter” parking lot – entrance via Jaffa Gate (fee).

Mount Zion car park – outside the Old City and reach it is to the right of the Sultan Pool Dam (fee).

“Safra Square” parking lot – located under Safra Square and the entrance to it is from the tribe of Israel Street (for a fee).

Line 38 will pick up passengers from “Cartha” parking lots and anywhere in the Old City at discounted and special prices.
